A Rare and Important Set of Four George II Mahogany Gainsborough Armchairs.

The rectangular shaped backs carved with floral patrea and flowing acanthus, above a shaped seat with a carved apron and central scallop shell, resting on cabriole legs with scallop shell knees and a french scroll foot.
