A Superb Irish George II Carved Gilt-wood Pier Mirror
The swan necked crest with acanthus carving and rosettes, supported by carved corbels,
with a central cartouche above trailing flowers an egg and dart moulding and central Lions mask,
the original bevelled plate inside a bead and reel moulding with carved rosettes on each corner, and an egg and dart outer frame,
the shaped base with a central carved scallop shell, with bell flowers and further acanthus work.
Attributed to John Booker senior.

An Important Regency Burr Oak Writing Table
The rectangular top with a thick band of burr oak and black leather writing surface
with two draw leaf ends, above six opposing well shaped drawers, with ebonized
mouldings, resting on superbly carved winged ebonized oak Gryphons, with interlocking tails.
The design for this table closely relates to many of the etchings published in 1798 by Charle Heathcote Tatham
Ancient Ornamental Architecture, drawn from the originals in Rome and other parts of Italy,
By the early 1800s designs from the Ancient world where at the height of fashion,
Pieces like this can be seen in designs by Thomas hope and George Bullock, who was commissioned to make
a similar burr oak and ebonized writing table for Emperor Napoleon when he was exiled on Saint Helena.
